Campus Story

As you work on your various campus stories, make sure you have covered the following main ideas:

-Who was involved?

-What is it?

-Where did it take place?

-When did it take place?

-Who does it affect?

-Why was it started?

You are showing these various events to the community via film. It is vital that your final presentation reflects a level of professionalism in both the quality of the filming and the approach and telling of the subject matter.

You will be graded on the following:

FILMING
Filming covered the subject with interesting, relevant shots to be used for both a and b roll footage.

Composition of shots is sound and varied (rule of thirds, different angles, varied shots)

Audio is clearly understood.

Focus has no unintended distorted images.

The shots are well exposed with no unintentional shifts is light quality.

EDITING
Pacing/Tempo of the cuts establishes what is needed to convey the action then moves on.

Any interview answers used don’t drag on for long periods of time; essential answer without rambling.

Continuity of shots provides a logical flow of action and use of the A/B roll between the interview/voice over and the topics being discussed.

Voiceover work is used.

B roll footage is relevant to the interview/voice over and adds visual information to the spoken answers/comments.

Audio quality has no major shifts in volume.

Music should be appropriate to the mood of the interview without overpowering the dialog (if applicable) and copyright-compliant.

Titles are present, cover the name of the interview and list the individuals involved in the project and their jobs, and are aesthetically appropriate.

Studio standards were followed, including proper settings and exported file to the proper folder.
